Ayesha Takia to play princess Jasmine

Ayesha Takia is all set to play the demure princess Jasmine in Sujoy Ghosh’s forthcoming experimental film ‘Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp’

‘Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp’ has a huge star-cast lead by none other than Amitabh Bachchan as the Genie along with Sanjay Dutt and Riteish Deshmukh, who does title role ‘Aladin’.

Ayesha was seen in ‘Home Delivery’, Sujoy Ghosh’s previous venture, where she played a sweet plain Jane, but in ‘Aladin and the Mystery of the Lamp’ she would be seen as a beautiful-n-charming princess Jasmine.

The director believes Ayesha is apt to play the role in this film for kids, as she has a huge fan base of young kids. But he also added that she was signed not only because she is cute and liked by kids, but because of her acting prowess. After watching ‘Dor’ no one will question his statement for sure!
