Ayesha Takia
refused to do lovemaking scene

‘No Smoking’ director Anurag Kashyap was forced to change an
intense lovemaking scene into funny pillow talk, due to a clause
in the contract with Ayesha Takia. The contract clearly stated
that there were to be no dare-to-bare scenes, no kisses, no
lovemaking scenes, and no bikinis!
Anurag, who was visibly upset, “It was like an atom bomb being
dropped on my head since she was not only reluctant but
completely against doing the lovemaking scene. I could
understand her discomfort, but I badly needed that scene!”
So the director had to think out of the box to change the scene
and in the end he decided to make shoot the lovemaking scene in
a funnier way. “After all the amendments that we had to go
through, this scene turned out to be the best that I have shot
so far,” he added smiling.
Those who have followed Ayesha closely know that this is not the
first time she stood her ground, when it came to compromising
her values. She has refused many offers from big banners and
reputed directors. She rejected Yashraj Films ‘Neal and Nikki’
as the film had many bold scenes. Recently she even refused
Nagesh Kukunoor’s new movie because it had a kissing scene,
despite the fact that their last film together ‘Dor’ was the
turning point in her career.
